The Cantonese original musical “Canton Fair World” was grandly presented for the 135th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) on April 17-18 at Guangzhou Friendship Theatre. A segment of soulful and beautiful musical singing confidently showed the infinite charm of the city of Guangzhou and let the audience feel the strong Lingnan characteristics.

As an original musical produced in Guangdong, “Canton” is dedicated to creating a literary masterpiece with Lingnan characteristics, Chinese soul and global vision, with “youth” and “fashion” as its keywords. The title of the show is the eye of the title - “Make Friends Around the World”, which is not only the “Guang” in “Guangzhou, Guangdong”, but also the “Guang” in the word “Guang”, but also the “Guang” in the word “Guang”. This is not only “Guang” as in “Guangzhou, Guangdong”, but also “Guang” as in “making friends all over the world”.

The authentic Cantonese ditty “Selling Groceries” and the melodious Cantonese Opera piece “Flower Field Misconduct” sound one after another on the stage, while fried noodles, fried snails, and cockles and olives are sold along the street, with a full “Canton flavor”! Showing the audience a vibrant Guangzhou full of fireworks.

Focusing on the China Import and Export Fair (i.e. “Canton Fair”), the drama is based on the new era, and writes about big feelings with small characters. The story takes the emotional connection between two young people from different countries separated by thousands of miles as a clue, connecting the fiery feelings in their hearts through a silk scarf of fragrant cloud yarn, and centering on the 66th Canton Fair to unfold the destiny of a promise of a thousand words and a promise of looking at each other and keeping each other's fate.
